Joo-Lee sets the vision at The People at Work, taking responsibility for establishing partnerships, initiatives and performance standards across offices. Engaging with a diverse clientele from startups to multinationals, Joo Lee has helped set up new leadership teams in Asia, built strategy teams, and often advised clients on the cross-cultural talent landscape with special focus in China. Joo-Lee’s corporate career spanned media, consumer and banking sectors in business development and marketing before she moved into search. She was educated in Malaysia, Singapore and US and holds a BSc from University of Oregon, and an MSc in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Chong Lian joined People at Work in end 2000, and takes charge of the Singapore office. Armed with over 25 years of professional experience spanning public and private sectors, Chong Lian started her career in the Singapore Armed Forces, and was amongst the first few women to be appointed aide-de-camp to Chief of Defence and the President of Singapore. Her unique background gives her a slightly different, but holistic view to clients as she combines technical skills with a service-oriented approach. Chong Lian graduated with a B.A. in Sociology and Literature from the National University of Singapore. She also has a graduate diploma in marketing communications from the Marketing Institute of Singapore.
Cesar worked in corporate Human Resources with multinational and domestic companies such as Ayala and Cemex before he entered the search business. With over 30 years of professional experience, including last 12 years in executive search, Cesar became part of The People at Work leadership team in 2014 after his firm was acquired. Cesar helps recruit CxO and other senior executives for clients in industrial, energy, real estate, consumer and financial services. He keeps busy deepening cross-border relationships and driving client projects with other TPAW offices. He holds a BSc in Clinical Psychology from Far Eastern University and a diploma in Industrial Relations from University of Philippines.
Based in the Philippines, Christine closely partners companies in highly challenging search projects in the consumer, e-commerce and health care sectors. Although she started her career in IT and banking, Christine has successfully transitioned into executive search and talent management since 2006. She holds a master’s degree in HR from the University of Santo Tomas. Christine enjoys the challenge of matching good talents to companies, and learning from the diverse groups of clients and talents she has engaged with. She deeply values integrity and believes in going the extra mile. Her commitment comes from her heart, and this also shown by her passion for charitable work which includes championing women’s causes, children from underprivileged backgrounds and poverty alleviation.
Wendy has more than 25 years of experience working with companies such as Mars, Electrolux and Ernst & Young. Her personal career transitioned from Finance to finally, Human Resources, where she found her passion. At Mars, she led multiple successful organizational transformation from enhancing development experience and career paths for succession planning to developing future organizational design for all functions and countries across Southeast Asia. Now at The People at Work, Wendy is a trusted advisor to business leaders on senior-level talent acquisition, development and coaching. She enjoys helping people maximise their potential, and takes a special interest in women’s economic empowerment.
